Background & Position
I received my PhD degree in 2000 in Medical Imaging from the University of Lyon, France. My dissertation topic was on the coronary artery labelling in angiography. Then, I worked as Research Follow on the segmentation of focal brain lesions at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig, Germany.
In 2005 I joined ICCAS as researcher. My research focuses on the segmentation of vascular structures in X-ray and ultrasound angiography. Since 2007 I am member of the patient modelling group.
Research Areas
I am currently working on the extraction of blood vessels of the brain in 3D intraoperative ultrasound angiographic (3D-iUSA) data. The segmentation method includes the computation of a 3D vesselness map which represents the probability that a voxel belongs a blood vessel and a region growing technique to keep only the object of interest, i.e. the vascular structures. First results obtained on three data of patients who underwent brain aneurysm surgeries are promising.
