Image Details

The title images shows a variety of visualizations from medical, engineering, and natural sciences. All images are rendered by Michael Meißner and Dirk Bartz of the WSI/GRIS. Most of the respective datasets can be found at www.volvis.org.

Top row: Left - Simulated fuel injection into a combustion chamber. Middle - Volume rendered MRI head. Right - Simulation of the spatial probablility distrubition of the electron in an hydrogen atom.
Middle row: Left - Simulation of the spatial probability distribution of the electrons in a high potential protein molecule. Middle - Virtual endoscopy of the cerebral ventricular system of a human with arterial blood vessels. Right - Simulation of a unsteady interaction of a planar shockwave with a randomly-perturbed contact discontinuity.
Bottom row: Left - Vortex breakdown of an injected fluid. Right - Simulation of the two-body distribution probability of a nucleon in the atomic nucleus.
