Background & Position

Dayana Goldstein graduated from the University of Leipzig in 2005 as Magistra Artium in the fields of Linguistics and English Studies. Her focal subjects of interest were semantics, morphology and syntax. Her master thesis was about compounding in English.

In addition, she finished stage studies in Media and Communication Science, also at Leipzig University, in 2002. Here, her main topic was Historical and Systematic Communication Science.

 

Alongside her learning, she continuously worked as student assisstant. At Bremen University, where she began her studies, she supported the 'Zentrum für angewandte Informationstechnologien' (Center for Applied Information Technologies). In Leipzig, she worked at the of Department of Linguistics, Institute of British Studies. Here, she participated, for instance, in the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft) research project 'Particle Verb Formation in German and English'. Posteriously, she autonomously conducted the accompanying tutorial to the lecture 'History of the English Language – An Introduction to Diachronic Linguistics' from 2003-2004.

 

Before starting her post as research associate at the ICCAS in 2007, she had already been a student assisstant and a scientific co-worker there for two years.
