Gero Strauss is specialist in ENT-surgery. He has been interested in computer assisted ENT-Surgery since 1999. His work focuses on preoperative planning and mechatronical assist systems.
Research Areas
He initiated several work in the area of "Navigated Control", "Preaoperative 3-D-Planing for Skull Base Surgery", "Telemanipulatory Concepts for Head-Surgery", "Surgical Simulation" and "Scientific Tools for Evaluation of CAS-Systems". Gero Strauss is an initial member of the "Interdisciplinary Study Group Image Guided Surgical Navigation" (IGSN, forerunner of the ICCAS) and the German Society for Computer and Robot-Assisted Surgery (CURAC)
