Background and Position
Steffen Oeltze-Jafra is head of the research group ‘Digital Patient and Process Model’ at ICCAS. He received the diploma (M.Sc.) degree in computational visualistics from the University of Magdeburg (UoM), Germany in 2004. In 2010, he received his Ph.D. in computer science and in 2016, he was awarded the habilitation (venia legendi) in computer science from the same university.
His research interests have been focused on the integration of visualization, data analysis, exploration, and interaction techniques for the investigation of data from clinical medicine, biology, and epidemiology. In 2004 and 2008, Oeltze-Jafra received the prestigious “Karl-Heinz-Höhne” award (2nd and 1st place) for his scientific work on the visualization of vasculature with convolution surfaces and the interactive visual analysis of perfusion data, respectively.
