SPIE is the international society for optics and phonatics. At its conference the science of medical imaging is explored and the latest information and advances in medical imaging and image processing are presented.<\/p>\n

Erik Schreiber will represent the ICCAS at the 17th SPIE\/IFCARS Joint Workshop on Information Management, Systems Integration, Standards, and Approval Issues for the Digital Operating Room. In his lecture he introduces use cases for potential integration profiles for the newly established IHE surgery domain. ICCAS board member Prof. Heinz U. Lemke is chair of this technical workshop. ICCAS guest researcher Dr. Frank Heckel from the Fraunhofer MEVIS in Bremen will speak about the results of a study on the quality of medical image data for the surgical removal of brain tumors during a poster presentation.<\/p>\n
