Visitors of this year\u2019s major event Connecting Healthcare IT (conhIT) could experience the operating room of the future at close quarters at the impressive OR.Net exhibition booth. There, the results of the joint research of nationwide over 80 partner institutions from industry, clinic and science were presented. They have been brought together in an operating room where medical devices of various producers can communicate in real time with each other, with the surgeon and with the IT-infrastructure of the hospital. The visitors also included the Federal Minister of Education and Research Johanna Wanka, who praised the results. Besides the positive effects such as patient safety and improved stress management she expressed her hopes for advantages for innovative small and medium-sized enterprises and especially for hospitals. In future they can more flexible integrate devices of various producers in their operating rooms.<\/p>\n
In the course of the finished project a user association was founded. Its deputy chairman is Professor Thomas Neumuth (ICCAS). The association strives for bilateral relations with small and medium-sized enterprises and activities at the international level.<\/p>\n
After the conhIT the demonstration of the first vendor-independent, fully networked operating theater will continue to experience at the ICCAS. For all those who have not seen the OR yet, ICCAS will open its doors on June 20 and 21, 2016. <\/p>\n
