Her dissertation addresses the challenges around risk management in the digital operating room and investigates how frequency analysis of surgical workflows can be applied to improve patient safety and reduce resource conflicts during surgical procedures. To this end, Maktabi presents a novel online approach for forecasting both surgeon\u2019s resource usage and the remaining intervention time based on time series analysis and the application of a linear time-varying system.
