On August 19, about 40 decision makers from hospitals, hospital groups and companies involved in the healthcare sector visited ICCAS\u00a0 to learn more about our current research. ICCAS scientists held demonstrations at 5 stations for the visitors. There were insights into the further development of established project topics such as imaging robotics, medical technology networking and hyperspectral imaging for surgery. In addition, ICCAS presented its work focusing on augmented reality (AR). The objective is to use AR technology in combination with real-time 3D modeling to improve the planning and execution of surgical procedures. The technologies can also be used for the education and training of physicians. Finally, a visit to our demo OR, where our workflow management software for ENT minimally invasive procedures was presented, and an informal get-together rounded out the program.<\/p>\n
The visit by members of the club, which sees itself as a network for executives of the increasingly converging healthcare industry, underlines once again what makes the research at ICCAS unique: the proximity to industry and the transfer of research findings into the economy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
