Background and Position

Fabian Joeres studied Mechanical Engineering (BSc) and Human Factors (MSc) at the TU Berlin and graduated in 2014 with a Master’s Thesis on cognitive modelling in human-machine systems. After graduating, he conducted some work as a Human Factors Engineer for medical devices with Cambridge Consultants Ltd (UK). Between 2017 and 2021, Fabian acquired his Engineering Doctorate at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg with the dissertation title “Augmented Reality in Minimally Invasive Partial Nephrectomy”. He joined ICCAS in 2022 as a PostDoc researcher and focuses his research on the integration of mixed reality technologies in medical processes and the investigation of surgical human-machine systems.
