After five years of research at ICCAS Christian Meißner moves into the industrial sector to the KUKA Laboratories GmbH Augsburg. There, the engineer will be concerned with the control programming of medical robots. Meißner studied Electrical Engineering in the Diploma and Master Degree program at the HTWK Leipzig before he came to ICCAS in 2008. Since 2011, he has been pursuing his doctorate on “Sensor based automatic recognition of surgical workflows.”
For ICCAS the KUKA Laboratories are not an unknown quantity. In 2008 there was a cooperation with the robot manufacturer. Surely more points of contact for joint research projects will arise now.
