Digitalized medicine connects Saxony and Poland: ICCAS at the Economic Forum in Wrocław

On October 21st and 22nd, 2025, the 16th Polish-Saxon Economic Forum “Medicine of the Future” took place in Wrocław (Breslau) – organized by Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH (WFS) on behalf of the Free State of Saxony.
The aim of the event was to bring together companies and research institutions from Saxony and the Lower Silesia region in the field of life and bio sciences, to discuss technological trends such as digital health and artificial intelligence (AI) in the medical field, and to initiate cooperation.

The ICCAS was represented with several program items:

• Thomas Neumuth represented the institution in a panel discussion on “Innovative Technologies and the Use of AI in Medicine – Opportunities and Risks, Possibilities for Saxon-Lower Silesian Cooperation.”
• In his keynote speech “Innovations in the Service of Future Medicine”, he presented key research approaches at ICCAS and showed how AI and digital solutions can help shape the medicine of tomorrow.

At the same time, the team from the Network for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (KIMed), in which ICCAS is involved, networked with international partners. The aim of this network is to establish a secure and networked infrastructure for AI applications in medicine and to specifically promote innovative AI solutions.
