ICCAS was represented at the DMEA in Berlin from April 8th to 10th, 2025 with an extensive presence. This year, we had two stands as well as our networked ambulance in the outdoor area and offered a wide range of insights into current developments in digital emergency and intensive care medicine.
At the joint VDE stand, we presented the 6G-Health project together with project partners such as Vodafone, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and inomed Medizintechnik GmbH. A wireless EMG demonstrator for intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) was particularly highlighted here, showing how more efficiency, safety and flexibility can be achieved in the operating theater in the future through wireless sensor technology.
At the same time, we presented solutions for intelligent alerting in intensive care units at the OR.NET e. V. stand together with tetronik GmbH and Infrafon. The SDC-VAS project presented a demonstrator that enables targeted, context-sensitive alarm forwarding – an approach to reduce alarm fatigue and noise pollution that will be further developed in the follow-up project I-VAS.
In the outdoor area, visitors were also able to experience a fully equipped ambulance in which we, together with XITASO, demonstrated the integration of the IDTA administration shell with the international standard IEEE 11073 SDC in a realistic emergency scenario for the first time. Visitors were given a practical impression of how standardized interfaces can enable seamless, manufacturer-independent communication between medical devices in the future.
DMEA 2025 was a successful platform for ICCAS to present innovative solutions together with strong partners, hold valuable discussions and provide new impetus for the networked medicine of the future.
