MIRACLE-5 project completion: XR, 5G, and medicine in harmony

With the MIRACLE-5 project, we have been pursuing a forward-looking research goal over the past few months: to investigate the practical application of XR-supported telemedicine based on high-performance 5G campus networks. The focus was on technological feasibility and a consistent focus on user needs in the medical environment.

At the final meeting, we were able to present key results and developments, including:

• A live demonstration of our AR application in a realistic clinical environment.
• Initial medical internships with valuable feedback from practice.
• A thorough analysis of the network requirements and performance of modern 5G campus infrastructures.
• A final discussion with a view to future fields of application for XR telemedicine

Technology demonstrator at the heart of the project

At the heart of MIRACLE-5 is an innovative technology demonstrator that enables the testing, evaluation, and further development of XR telemedicine solutions under realistic conditions – supported by state-of-the-art 5G technology.

In close cooperation with our partners – LEFX GmbH and Leipzig University Hospital – we have succeeded in effectively combining medical expertise and technological innovation.
