Modelbased Automation at ICCAS
EYEHEARU: DFG FUNDING FOR AN UPCOMING PROJECT 25.10.2021
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) is going to provide funding for an upcoming research project under ICCAS’ leadership. The project dubbed “Eye Hear U” has the objective to develop a novel training approach that enables personalized multimodal acquisition, simulation, visualization, and acoustic support of the learning process for bimanual basic laparoscopic skills. A prominent aspect of this approach will be a laparoscopy simulator with continuous quantitative training monitoring to objectively assess and support trainee physicians’ dexterity and coordination behaviors. ICCAS’ partners in this initiative will be the Department of Paediatric Surgery (University of Leipzig Medical Center) and Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS.
