headline-markerNEW MASTER PROGRAM AT THE INTERFACE BETWEEN MEDICINE AND INFORMATICS AT UNIVERSITY LEIPZIG WITH ICCAS’ INVOLVEMENT

16.06.2021

The Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Leipzig University are cooperating to launch a new master’s course for the upcoming winter term 2021/22. The program “Medical Informatics” is directed towards both bachelor graduates in computer science, health science or a field related to computer science as well as medical graduates, while depending on the type of prior knowledge of the students, the basics of the other complementary field will be taught at the beginning of the course. Designed to address the shortage of IT specialists in the healthcare sector, the focus of the new program is laid on the management of information systems for medical care and research. Building on this, students will have the opportunity to set an individual focus of their studies through the elective courses covering a wide spectrum of specialized topics within the field. The well-established module on Computer Assisted Surgery given annually by Prof. Dr. Thomas Neumuth will also be integrated into the course’s catalogue.
Interested students are encouraged to submit their online applications by 15th of September via the AlmaWeb-Portal. Here you can get acquainted with the application process. Take a detailed look here and learn more about the new master’s program and the admission requirements.
