15 participants from 5 nations experienced an intensive training course during the sixth ICCAS Digital Operating Room Summer School (DORS) from August 26 to 30.
Every day, the guests experienced a mix of lectures and workshops on computer-guided medical assistants from various disciplines and their use in operating rooms. They were given a detailed look at the work of surgeons at the Leipzig University Hospital and Heart Center and were able to lend a hand in training modules. For engineers and computer scientists in particular, the change of perspective – slipping into the role of the physician – is a great advantage in the development of medical technology.
ICCAS thanks its members of the clinical committee for their great support and is already looking forward to the next DORS, taking place from September 7 to 11, 2020.
