Emergency Operating System

Validation of the EOS digital information system for German civil protection

The Emergency Operating System (EOS) project is investigating the applicability of a digital, resource-saving software solution for mission and treatment documentation for German disaster relief and civil protection organizations. Based on a digital documentation and information system developed for internationally active emergency medical teams and drawing on experience gained from the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, national workflows, organizational requirements, and technical conditions are systematically evaluated. A central focus is on offline usability, so that the system can be operated reliably even without an internet or mobile phone connection under real operational conditions. The aim is to validate EOS as an electronic documentation and management tool for major incidents and to identify necessary adjustments for use in Germany.

This measure is co-financed by tax revenues based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.
