MEDICA 2025: Focus on digitalization and networking – Future medicine with 5G and 6G
MEDICA 2025: Focus on digitalization and networking – Future medicine with 5G and 6G From November 17th to 20th, the international trade fair MEDICA will once again open its doors in Düsseldorf under the motto “Meet Health. Future. People.”and bring together over 5,000 exhibitors from more than 70 countries and around 80,000 trade visitors.
This year’s event will focus in particular on the topics of artificial intelligence, robotics & assistance systems, networked care, and the concept of the digital hospital of the future. With these “hot topics,” the industry is responding to the profound transformation processes in healthcare – from rising quality requirements and skilled labor shortages to coping with global supply chain and regulatory issues.
There will be a special focus on the digitization and networking of healthcare and medical technology: For example, the “MTF: VDE Connected Health” forum will feature a presentation by Thomas Neumuth from ICCAS Leipzig entitled “Integration of 5G and 6G technologies in medicine.”
Neumuth outlines how 5G is already enabling telemonitoring, mobile diagnostics in ambulances, and networked operating room scenarios – while also looking ahead to 6G networks, which will herald the next era of medicine with extremely high data rates, minimal latency, and dense sensor and AI structures. He points out the need to link technical innovations with issues of security, interoperability, and regulatory compliance.
Visitors to MEDICA 2025 can look forward to an extensive program featuring forums, start-up pitches, special shows, and networking formats—covering everything from laboratory technology and health IT to orthopedics and physiotherapy. The exhibition in Düsseldorf will once again provide a platform for exchange, innovation, and business development in a key industry undergoing change.
