Background and Position

Denis Gholami Bajestani has been researching at ICCAS since 2019. Until the end of 2023, he worked in the MRI-guided interventions research group, in which the ICCAS MR-group developed three different MRI-guided interventions together with four industry partners:

  • Endomyocardial Biopsy (EMB)
  • Stent implantation
  • Thrombosis treatment (vena cava filter)

Denis Gholami Bajestani has been a member of the Intraoperative Multimodal Imaging (IMI) research group since 2024. In this role, he is dedicated to the preclinical evaluation of laparoscopic MSI-systems (multispectral imaging) in order to optimize and further develop innovative imaging technologies for intraoperative use.

Main research areas:
  • Preclinical evaluation of medical technology systems
  • Development of MRI-supported interventional techniques
  • Multimodal imaging for intraoperative applications
