MEDICA 2025: Focus on digitalization and networking – Future medicine with 5G and 6G From November 17th to 20th, 2025, the international trade fair MEDICA will once again open its doors in Düsseldorf under the motto “Meet Health. Future. People.”
More than 5,000 exhibitors from over 70 countries and around 80,000 trade visitors are expected to attend to discuss the latest developments in medical and health technology.
A central theme of this year’s MEDICA is the digitization and networking of the healthcare system. The focus will be on artificial intelligence, robotics, assistance systems, and the digital hospital of the future. These focal points reflect the profound changes in the industry – from rising quality requirements and a shortage of skilled workers to global supply chain and regulatory challenges.
A highlight of the “MTF: VDE Connected Health” forum is the presentation by Thomas Neumuth entitled “Integration of 5G and 6G technologies in medicine.” Neumuth will show how 5G technologies are already enabling telemonitoring, mobile diagnostics, and networked surgical scenarios today – and how 6G networks will revolutionize medicine in the future with extremely high data rates, minimal latency, and intelligent sensor and AI structures.
The accompanying panel discussion “Smart Networks, Smart Medicine – 6G Research Trends and Future Prospects” will also highlight how intelligent communication networks are shaping the healthcare of the future: from real-time data transmission and AI-supported diagnostics to secure, high-performance infrastructures for hospitals and telemedicine. Experts from research and industry will discuss current initiatives, application scenarios, and challenges in building resilient, networked medical systems.
With expert forums, start-up pitches, special exhibitions, and networking formats, MEDICA 2025 once again offers a central platform for innovation, exchange, and future trends in an industry undergoing change.
