Dr. Harald Busse currently heads the Imaging Research Group at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Leipzig University Hospital. He completed his diploma in physics and his preliminary medical examination at the University of Bonn and received his doctorate in natural sciences in 1995. Between 1995 and 2000, he worked as a scientist in the fields of surface research, biomedical engineering, radiology and information technology at various institutions, including the University of Southern California, the University Hospital Düsseldorf and the Research Center for Information Technology (now Fraunhofer) in Sankt Augustin. His research in Leipzig focuses on the clinical translation of advanced methods for radiologic imaging and data analysis (MRI and CT). In 2012, he co-edited a book on interventional MRI. Dr. Busse is also a private lecturer in experimental radiology at Leipzig University Medicine.
