ICCAS – Beteiligung am Medinfo-Kongress in Kopenhagen 27.08.2013
Dr. Kerstin Denecke und Stefan Kropf nahmen vom 20. Bis 23. August 2013 am 14. Weltkongress für Medizin- und Gesundheits-Informatik (Medinfo2013) teil. Auf der internationalen Veranstaltung trafen über 1200 Wissenschaftler aus der ganzen Welt zusammen, deren gemeinsames Interesse die Verbesserung der Informations- und Datenverarbeitung im Gesundheitswesen durch Innovationen in der Gesundheits-, Medizin- und Bio-Informatik ist.
Frau Dr. Denecke war mit zwei wissenschaftlichen Beiträgen auf der Veranstaltung aktiv. Die Nachwuchsgruppenleiterin der DPM-Gruppe hielt einen Vortrag auf dem Forum „Panel on Social Media“ zu „New Trends in Health Social Media: Hype or Evidence-based Medicine“ und beteiligte sich an der Poster Session zum Thema „Ontologies, knowledge representation, data models“.
Für Stefan Kropf waren die Tutorials „openEHR“ und „NLP“ (natural language processing) sehr informativ. Besonders die Ausführungen zur Guideline Definition Language (GDL) werden für seine zukünftige Forschungsarbeit von Bedeutung sein. Der Nachwuchswissenschafler aus der DPM-Gruppe befasst sich mit klinischen Datenmodellen. Das Anwendungsgebiet der GDL reicht von einfachen Regeln zur Berechnung von Werten bis zur regelbasierten klinischen Entscheidungsunterstützung. Aktuelles Ziel ist es, diese Entscheidungshilfen in einem globalen Softwareverzeichnis abzulegen und weltweit zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Dr. Kerstin Denecke and Stefan Kropf took part at the 14th World Congress on Medical and Health Informatics (Medinfo2013) from 20 to 23 August 2013. At the international event more than 1,200 scientists from around the world came together, whose common interest is to improve the information and data processing in healthcare through innovation in the health, medical and bio-informatics.
Dr. Denecke took an active part with two scientific contributions in this event. The junior research group leader of the DPM group gave a presentation at the forum “Panel on Social Media” to the issue “New Trends in Health Social Media: Hype or Evidence-based Medicine” and participated in the poster session on “Ontologies, knowledge representation, data models “.
For Stefan Kropf the tutorials “openEHR” and “NLP” (natural language processing) were very informative. Especially the explanation on the Guideline Definition Language (GDL) will be relevant for his future research. The young researcher from the DPM group deals with the issue of clinical data models. The area of application of the GDL ranges from simple rules for calculating values to rule-based clinical decision support. The current aim is to store these decision-making aids in a global software directory and to make them available worldwide.
